Cuphead

1 votes 5/5

Cuphead is a retro action game that instantly creates excitement through intense boss fights and classic animation. Start playing and experience the challenge for yourself.

Impression of the Cuphead World

A new challenge awaits Cuphead. Familiar worlds collide as dangerous enemies emerge from different dimensions. To restore peace, Cuphead must defeat Puppet from Five Nights at Freddy's, outsmart the Neighbor from Hello Neighbor, and survive the terrifying attacks of Bendy.

Each boss owns a different battlefield and has no problem throwing attacks at you that you won't see coming the first time. Cuphead still relies on the same core toolkit: shooting, moving, and using special moves at the right moment, but how you combine them depends entirely on the fight in front of you.

How to Help Cuphead Conquer the Battle?

  • Arrow Keys = Move
  • Z = Jump / Parry
  • X = Shoot
  • C = Lock Aim
  • V = EX Move
  • Shift = Dash
  • Esc = Pause

The Fights Are Harder Than They Look

The 1930s cartoon visuals fool a lot of people into thinking this is a light, easygoing game. It isn't. Even attacks that look simple demand constant focus; lose concentration for a second, and you're already taking damage.

Bendy was the worst offender for me personally. I hit 34 deaths on that fight before finally clearing it, mostly because I kept misreading the timing on his second phase. Every boss fight pulls you in completely, and before you know it, you've been staring at the same arena for 45 minutes trying to figure out what you keep getting wrong.

Puppet caught me off guard in a different way; the attack patterns look predictable until phase three, where everything speeds up, and your muscle memory from the first two phases actively works against you. I had to unlearn what I'd practiced just to move forward.

Winning Never Gets Old

After five, seven, maybe ten failed attempts at the same phase, finally getting past it hits differently. It doesn't feel like luck, you know you actually got better, one small read at a time.

Tips to Stop Dying Unnecessarily

  • Watch the boss's movement pattern before firing randomly.
  • Hold EX energy for when you genuinely need it, not just whenever it's available.
  • Dash consistently, even when nothing is coming at you.
  • Don't try to force through a hard phase in one run; You’ll need to learn each pattern first, then push.

Final Word

Cuphead doesn't hold your hand, and that's exactly what makes it worth playing. Every loss teaches you something, and every win is something you earned yourself; nobody can do that part for you.
