Melvor Idle

1 votes 5/5

Melvor Idle is a RuneScape-inspired idle RPG where one click sets your hero to work, and the progress bar does the rest. Pick a skill, start the clock, and see how far your adventurer can go.

Melvor Idle Gameplay: One Click Starts the Work

You choose a task, and your character carries it out on repeat. A tree gets chopped, a fish gets caught, an ore gets mined, and the XP piles up. Every action fills a progress bar, and every level opens the door to better resources. The loop is simple to learn and gets deeper the further you go.

Skills: From Shrimp Nets to Rune Altars

Melvor Idle has more than 20 skills, with 15 non-combat skills to train. Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, Cooking, Firemaking, Smithing, Fletching, Runecrafting, and Farming each have their own mechanics. Output from one skill feeds another. Fish become food, ore becomes bars, and logs become bows. Fishing is a strong place to start because it brings in early gold and gives you cooked food for later fights.

Combat: Melee, Ranged, and Magic Take the Field

Combat is built on 8 dedicated skills and more than 100 monsters. Each style relies on different crafting skills:

  • Melee: needs Mining and Smithing for weapons and armor
  • Ranged: needs Woodcutting and Fletching for bows and arrows
  • Magic: needs Runecrafting for runes and wizard gear

The styles also counter one another. Melee beats ranged, ranged beats magic, and magic beats melee. Matching your style to the right enemy keeps fights short and your health high.

Dungeons, Bosses, and Slayer Areas

When the monster list gets easy, step into dungeons with tougher enemies and boss fights at the end. Slayer areas add rare combat drops that you cannot find anywhere else. Some dungeon rewards, like the Amulet of Looting, make your later runs smoother.

Bank Space: Every Slot Matters

Your bank works as your inventory, and it starts with only 20 slots. When it fills up, new drops are lost, so a long idle session can waste good loot. You can buy extra slots from the shop with gold, and each one costs more than the last. Late in the game, new bank tabs become available for those who gather enough gold.

Pets: Small Companions, Big Charm

You can collect more than 40 pets as you train skills and clear content. They add personality to the grind and give collectors a long list of goals.

Expansions and Cloud Saving

Melvor Idle keeps growing through expansions that add new skills, monsters, and pets. The Throne of the Herald expansion raises the skill cap from 99 to 120. Cloud saving works across platforms, so your progress follows you from desktop to mobile.

Starter Tips for New Adventurers

  1. Begin with Fishing to earn gold and cooked food early.
  2. Buy the iron fishing rod from the shop, then upgrade as gold allows.
  3. Pick one combat style and stay with it before branching out.
  4. Check your bank often so you don't lose drops.
  5. Save up for auto-eat, since it keeps your hero alive while you are away.
  6. Collect loot from the combat screen until you unlock the Amulet of Looting.
